Cookies

To make this site work properly, we sometimes place small data files called cookies on your device. Most big websites do this too.

What are cookies?

A cookie is a small text file that a website saves on your computer or mobile device when you visit the site. It enables the website to remember your actions and preferences (such as login, language, font size and other display preferences) over a period of time, so you don’t have to keep re-entering them whenever you come back to the site or browse from one page to another.

How do we use cookies?

We use local, first party cookies in order to make it easier for both us and you to book our events. We also use third party cookies from Facebook and Google Analytics in order to ensure targeted and relevant marketing campaigns.

  •

There are two types of cookies:

Session (Transient) cookies: These cookies are erased when you close your browser, and do not collect information from your computer. They typically store information in the form of a session identification that does not personally identify the user.

Persistent (Permanent or Stored) cookies: These cookies are stored on your hard drive until they expire (i.e. the are based on a set expiration date) or until you delete them. These cookies are used to collect identifying information about the user, such as Web surfing behavior or user preferences for a specific site.

Take a look at the table below to view which cookies we have on our website:

  • svSession - persistent cookie - a cookie aimed at identifying unique visitors and tracking the visitors' sessions on the website - we use this cookie in order for analytical purposes as we are interested in how much time you spend on our website and what pages you actually read.

  • TSxxxxxxxx (where x is replaced with a random series of numbers and letters) - session cookie - security cookies aimed at preventing (as much as possible) network attacks.

  • Facebook cookies aimed at better advertising - this cookie will help deliver our advertising to people who have already visited our website when they are on Facebook or a digital platform powered by Facebook Advertising.

  •  XSRF-TOKEN - session cookie - session cookies aimed at helping with site security in preventing Cross-Site Request Forgery attacks.

  • RequestID - session cookie - cookie aimed at tracking visitor behavior and measuring site performance - again just for analytical purposes and improved marketing campaigns.

Why do we use cookies?

We use few cookies as we are firm believers in privacy. However, the ones that we have implemented are helping us see which workshops are most popular, to count visitors to a page, to improving our users’ experience, to keep our services secure, to provide relevant advertising, and just generally providing you with a better, more intuitive, and satisfying experience. They also help with analysing how your use our site which, in turn, helps us to troubleshoot any problems and to monitor our own performance.

How to control cookies?

You can control and/or delete cookies as you wish – for details, see aboutcookies.org. You can delete all cookies that are already on your computer and you can set most browsers to prevent them from being placed. If you do this, however, you may have to manually adjust some preferences every time you visit a site and some services and functionalities may not work.
